# Windows Tutorial

## Minimum Requirements for Windows Devices

As a recommendation, Users should ensure their hardware meets the requirements:

* **Operating System:** <mark style="color:blue;">Windows 10 version 22H2 (Pro or Enterprise) or latest version; Windows 11 version 22H2 (Pro or Enterprise) or latest version</mark>&#x20;
* **Processor**<mark style="color:blue;">**:**</mark> <mark style="color:blue;"></mark><mark style="color:blue;">At least 4 cores</mark>&#x20;
* **Memory**<mark style="color:blue;">**:**</mark>  <mark style="color:blue;"></mark><mark style="color:blue;">Minimum 8GB, recommended 12GB</mark>
* **Graphics Card:** <mark style="color:blue;">Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3060 12GB</mark>
* **Graphics drivers:** <mark style="color:blue;">OpenCL,</mark> [<mark style="color:blue;">AMD drivers ( AMD GPU</mark> ](https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/knowledge-base-search.html)<mark style="color:blue;">) and</mark> [<mark style="color:blue;">AMD driver signatures</mark> ](https://sourceforge.net/projects/amd-ati-pixel-clock-patcher/)<mark style="color:blue;">, HIP or</mark> [<mark style="color:blue;">C UDA drivers</mark>](https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads)

## 1. Visit EMC Testnet

**EMC Testnet**: <https://earn.emc.network/>

### **Connect Wallet**

<figure><img src="/files/2gDFpxN5H6FNpK4XsRzT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click on "**Connect**" as shown in the image.

<figure><img src="/files/q433DdZH1UXkQjrcxcwq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Select your preferred installed wallet from the left side of the pop-up window. Next, in the wallet plugin interface, complete the steps in the wallet Chrome extension: "**Connect**" -> "**Authorize**" -> "**Sign**".

**Note:** During the wallet connection process, follow the prompt to switch to the EMC Testnet network (refer [EMC Testnet Network RPC Information](/emc-testnet/emc-airdrop-guidelines/wallet-setup/method-2-manual-configuration/emc-testnet-network-rpc-information.md)).

<figure><img src="/files/ZxmzeeR0aeCZWPKFYdSA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once connected, you can view your points and use an invitation code to invite friends.<br>

## 2. Install and Operate EMC Client

### **Download Windows EMC Client**

After the wallet connection is completed, the interface will display the user's wallet address, as shown in the image below.

<figure><img src="/files/Jgva1tL9fxsDukJSIaLi" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click "**Install**", select "**Windows**" from the list, and download EMC client.<br>

### EMC Client Local Installation

Find the latest version of the downloaded EMC client application on the device. Get administrator rights and run it to install the program.

<figure><img src="/files/dRgGohRAgmqXCwh5m5hK" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

As shown in the above image, users are required to enter their wallet private key and invitation code \[Optional] to successfully log in to the EMC client.<br>

### **EMC Client Mining Operations**

The EMC testnet supports two AI computing power mining models for users:

* <mark style="color:blue;">**CPU mining model**</mark>
* <mark style="color:blue;">**GPU mining model**</mark>

#### **CPU Mining Mode**

**Initial Setup for CPU Mining with EMC Client**

The EMC client interface defaults to the CPU mode, as shown in the image below:

<figure><img src="/files/t2F2OzvJJLEiyxi3lYk2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

EMC Client automatically detects the CPU core hardware resources of the user's device and completes initialization and node connection status. The information in the image above indicates that initialization and node connection are successful.

**Note:**&#x45;nsure sufficient gas fee before CPU mining([Visit The Gas Fee Collection Section](/emc-testnet/emc-airdrop-guidelines/faucets-claim-test-tokens.md));Otherwise, an error message <mark style="color:red;">"Insufficient Gas fee"</mark> will appear.<br>

**Starting CPU Mining with EMC Client**

After claiming the gas fees, return to the EMC client to start CPU mining.

<figure><img src="/files/Kii0jS4resdjKHS1PViS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

EMC clients usually perform CPU mining automatically. The client must stay running to manage the calculation and distribution of mining rewards.<br>

If you encounter any issues similar to the one illustrated below, please visit the EMC official Discord and open a ticket with a description of your inquiry.

#### **GPU Mining Node**

**Initial Setup for GPU Mining with EMC Client**

GPU mode on the EMC client interface is chosen by the user, as shown in the following image.

<figure><img src="/files/V1FjPPop5wwUVCHiQQvX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

EMC Client automatically detects the user's local Video Controller hardware resources, completes initialization, and nodes connection status. As shown in the image above, initialization and node connection are successful.

\
**Note:** Before clicking **"GPU Start Mining,"** Docker Desktop needed to be installed ([<mark style="color:blue;">Visit The Windows Docker Setup documentation</mark>](/emc-testnet/emc-airdrop-guidelines/testnet-tutorial-guide/windows-tutorial/docker-installation-and-setup-tutorial-window-version.md)<mark style="color:blue;">)</mark>.<br>

## 3. Claim Gas fees from the Community

EMC provides gas fee distribution through Telegram and Discord communities. Users can claim gas fees once per day.

### Discord Faucet Gas Fees

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.emc.network/emc-testnet/emc-airdrop-guidelines/testnet-tutorial-guide/windows-tutorial.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
