# Overview

The main function of the cross-chain bridge is to lock or destroy assets, generate proofs, notify the target chain, and issue the same amount of assets on the target chain. The whole process includes the following main steps:

● Proof Generation

● Notification

● Distribution or Minting

● Releasing
