# What is Gas fee?

Gas fees are fees paid to compensate miners or validators for the computational work required to process and verify transactions on the blockchain network. Gas fees consist of two parts: Gas unit price (in Gwei) and Gas limit (the maximum amount of Gas that can be used by a transaction or operation).
